NTUNHS Application Process for Graduating Students to Shorten Period of Compulsory Military Service
A. Legal basis: Regulations for the Deduction of the Period of Active Military Service by Military Training Courses and Regulations for the Deduction of the Period of Standing Soldier Service and Military Training by All-Out Defense Education and Military Training, promulgated by the Ministry of Education.
B. These rules apply to graduating NTUNHS students enlisted in compulsory military officer service, noncommissioned officer service, standing soldier service, or replacement service and who have passed their military training courses or military training offered under All-Out Defense Education during their term of study.
C. Application process:
- In-person applications
- Please prepare the NT$20 application fee in cash and apply for your university transcript from the kiosk situated outside the Cashier Division on the first floor of the Administrative Building.
- Students, taking with them a copy of their transcript and photo ID, can fill out the application register in the Military Education Office, situated within the Office of Student Affairs on the first floor of the Administrative Building.
- The Military Education Office shall stamp the transcript indicating the deduction of military service and calculate the deducted period; the transcript can be retrieved immediately.
- Correspondence applications
- Please address any correspondence applications to the Registration Division of the Office of Academic Affairs. In accordance with the latest announcements by the Registration Division, please apply for a copy of your transcript and provide the instruction, "For the purpose of military service deduction, one copy" in the blank space on the bottom of the application form.
- The Registration Division shall copy the Military Education Office, who shall stamp the transcript indicating the deduction of military service and calculate the deducted period. The Registration Division shall send the transcript back to the applicant by registered mail.
D. Note to transfer students: Students who transferred to or are graduating from NTUNHS shall also submit their transcript from their previous university to calculate the deduction of their military service. Students transferring out of NTUNHS to graduate from another university shall provide a copy of their NTUNHS transcript and follow the process of the university from which they are graduating.
