All-Out Defense Education

  1. International Situation

    Globalization has increased the frequency of interactions between international societies and increased interdependencies between different regions. The cross-strait situation and international relationships are intricately linked.
    This course is an introduction to the provisions of the law of armed conflict and further explains major issues of international and regional security given the wave of globalization and Taiwan's responses to it. The aim of the course is to foster macroscopic and international perspectives among students and to help them understand Taiwan's strategic geography and democratic values, thereby strengthening their national awareness and patriotism.

  2. National Defense Strategies

    With China's continual threat to use force against Taiwan, the establishment of a robust national consciousness and the strengthening of national security are crucial weapons of defense.
    This course discusses the fundamentals of Taiwan's national defense strategy and the development of policies toward China. The purpose of the course is to help students understand the importance of national security and strengthen their understanding of all-out national defense by explaining current national defense policies, increasing students' knowledge of national defense and security, and introducing Taiwan's national security regulations and crisis response mechanisms.

  3. All-Out National Defense

    All-out national defense is the participation of all civilians in war preparations; this course presents the nation's overall war fighting capabilities and strong defense consciousness. The scope of all-out national defense includes the national defense military, civilian defense, and political, economic, psychological, and technological matters relating to national defense; therefore, the Government is actively promoting All-Out Defense Education for the purpose of strengthening the public consensus that "national security involves everyone, and everyone is responsible for national security constructions."
    The intention of this course is to allow students to understand the meaning, content, and importance of all-out national defense and to cultivate students' identification with the concept of all-out national defense. The course helps students understand the sense of urgency associated with national defense, prompting them to actively engage in matters of national defense and demonstrate support for all-out national defense through their actions.

  4. All-Out Defense Mobilization

    This course is an introduction to the laws and regulations on all-out defense mobilization and youth service with the goal of helping students understand the basic principles of all-out national defense mobilization and their obligations, thus cultivating patriotism and reinforcing a consensus on national defense. This course will also introduce response and coping mechanisms for disasters that may occur in everyday life to broaden students' disaster-prevention and survival knowledge; this knowledge will be taught through simulated drills of national defense mobilizations. The goal is to stabilize belief in times of crisis and to demonstrate effective actions in disaster mitigation, preparation, response, and recovery.

  5. National Defense Technologies

    National defense technologies have a vital role in national security. A powerful national defense industry can provide the weapons required to maintain national security and benefit the economy by driving overall industrial and technological development.
    This course is an introduction to Taiwan's policies on national defense technology and the main weapons and equipment used by the national army; the relationship between weapon systems development and war preparations is outlined. The goal of the course is to guide students' interest in national defense technology to cultivate their acknowledgement of and support for national defense.
